Dolphins VS Panthers

The Dolphins are now 2-0 after beating the Panthers on Saturday. JD was supposed to play linebacker the entire 4th quarter but since the defense was already in when 4th quarter came around... he only played the last 8 minutes or so. He did well though while he was in and made a couple tackles:] The game was fun and we kicked it off with a nice tailgate party with some of our friends! Now we are just waiting to see what is gonna happen! They are really deep in the linebacker position so if JD even gets put on practice squad we will be super happy! They keep 53 on the active roster... then 8 extra guys on the practice squad. If someone gets injured on the Dolphins or any other team, JD could be moved to the active roster to replace them. That's how that works... I always thought the practice squad was like a whole separate scout team or something.... but nope... just 8 extra guys. Next, they head to Tampa Bay Thursday to play the Buccaneers. Things are going well out here in Florida.... Jonnie just discovered 'the scoot' yesterday and I get a kick outta watching her actually start one place and end up another....without rolling! She is getting so big! Here are some pics from Saturday's game. Jonnie took a little cat nap so she was ready to cheer on Daddy the entire game!

The games are a lotta fun... but they are longggg for Jonnie! We'll know for sure what's going on Sept. 6th so just a couple more weeks of living in limbo! WOO!

First Pre-Season Game

I'll just start off by saying it was SO MUCH FUN! JD had his first NFL game on Monday the 17th and I was so glad I was able to be there for it! The rookies generally get in the 2nd half.. so he played a tiny bit of special teams in the 3rd quarter and then linebacker and more special teams all of the 4th quarter. He did great and even had an interception! WOO! It was sweet! His next game is on Saturday so hopefully that goes well! Of course the coaches still want to win, so if we have a better lead this time the rookies should be able to get in sooner and get more reps. Cross your fingers that that is the case cause JD needs to show them he can play special teams! Probably his ticket onto the team since he is still smaller than they like their linebackers to be. He has put on 11 pounds since he came out in the summer but the other linebackers are still at least 15 pounds heavier than him! Some big dudes! But things are going well overall. He is just in training camp for another week so that's nice. Jonnie and I are staying with our friends that we met in the ward, the Schumers. We are SO GRATEFUL to them for letting us stay! JD still has to be in the hotel with all the players and there are 'no wives (and babies) allowed'. LAME. Mallory got some great pictures on her super nice camera from the game... but until I get those, here are some shots that I got on mine:]

Believe it or not... We're STILL ALIVE

Well since the last post, we have basically been around the world! Not really... but we never seem to stay any one place long enough for me to post pictures and blog! Since we left Florida on July 10th, we were at my parents' house in Utah for a week... then up at the ranch for a week... then at our cousin Rob's wedding in Oregon for almost a week... and now Jonnie and I are back home in Utah at my parents' and JD is back in Florida for training camp. We had a wonderful 3 week break of football but it went by WAY too fast! Instead of making this one gigantic post... I'll post lots of pictures and videos and let them do all the talking. We are missing JD already but are excited to head back to Florida on the 15th just before JD's first preseason game:] Til then.. Jonnie is loving playing with everyone here who just love and adore her so. She is growing up way too fast! She has hit some milestones since our last post... sitting up with no hands.. rolling like a champ from her back to her tummy both ways... and eating baby veggies:] She is so much fun and I just adore her cute/sassy personality. Enough jabbering though, here is what we've been up to the past month or so!








This was her first roll... which happened on her 4 month b-day! Since then.. we can't keep her in one place!
