Tell me about some mouth watering recipes you just can't get enough of. I would appreciate this greatly… but rather my husband would love it even more. I seem to make the same mundane things over and over again. It's time to incorporate some variety in our lives. Please and thank you.

Dinner?
Dutcher's the big EIGHT
Yesterday was my lil brother Dutcher's 8th birthday! How exciting for him! It was a busy day but both J.D. & I and also Brye & Michelle got to go over to my parent's house last night for some yummy cake and presents. He is the funniest kid to watch open presents.... He gets so excited over every little thing and it just makes it so much fun! He is hilarious and growing up SO fast! Either he needs to slow down.... or my sisters-in-law Michelle, Stacy, and I need to start havin some babies! We always have the best time over at my parent's house... It is so cute for me to watch J.D. play with Dutcher...both Haley and him love hangin out with J.D.... he is so sweet to them and I know he's gonna be such a good Daddy! I love my family so much and am so appreciative of all that they do for us! I still have yet to cook a Sunday dinner because we are either at my parent's house of Grandma Nan's:) And I'm not complaining one bit! I always took for granted all the yummy food that fills my parent's cupboards! It is amazing to me now to see it all....especially after seeing our rather sparse shelfs the entire week... I'm quickly humbled every time I go over there! But I just wanted to wish Dutcher one more Happy Birthday...he is such a stud ane he's so excited to be baptized soon:) I'm so proud of the good lil guy he is. I love you Dutch!

Happy Birthday Cosy!
It's my Sister-in-law's 20th B-Day today and I just wanted to give her a special shout out and wish her the best on this special day! She is back home in Montana until Wednesday but I plan to take her out to lunch as soon as she gets back! I feel so lucky to have you as my big sister, Cos, and I honestly learn from you daily. You are such a good example to me and some lucky guy is gonna be so fortunate to have you for a wife! Thanks for all you do for us Cosy! We love you!

My Little Handyman
So about a week ago, we finally had our first little thing go wrong that we had to fix since we've been married... and J.D. really pulled through! We live in an older basement apartment... so of course we don't have a disposal in our kitchen sink. I never knew how amazing those things were until we moved into this place! So I was doin a bunch of dishes one night and I accidentally let some beans and who knows what else go down the drain... bad idea. It got all plugged up and it wasn't until like three days later that I went to get some draino so we could get the dang thing fixed. I thought the water would just finally go down cause it had kinda done that before... but it never did. It just kept getting worse. We even had to stack all our dishes on the counter and I finally resorted to taking them all into the bathroom so we could wash them while we were in the shower! We were pretty desperate but we didn't have to resort to that... I finally got a hold of some draino but that alone didn't do the trick... So J.D. pulled the whole..."I have an idea" thing.. and whips out the plunger... don't worry we had never used it... just J.D.'s little brother had. haha. So first of all we had to clean off the plunger in the bath tub cause we were just grossed out... and let's not forget that some poop water got on our rug in there so we also added "wash the rug now" to the To-Do list. So we threw that in... finished up washing off the plunger... and headed to the kitchen. He started plungin' away and it seemed to be working! The water even started tornado-ing down the drain like I remembered my bath water doing when I was just a tot... Well we got really excited and were pleased with our handy man skills and then J.D. decided to give it one more good plunge just for good measure. This was the funniest part... the other side of the sink still had water in it and the pressure plunged the water ALL OVER US! So we were covered in draino/queso/gunky water and were laughing hysterically on the kitchen floor. It worked though! Our drain is fixed and I'm positive that my little handyman could fix anything now... seems he's already mastered the whole plunger thing:)

Spiritually Fed

I'm sure you all loved this past weekend as much as I did with Conference and all... We were fortunate enough to go to the afternoon session on Sunday and it was amazing! J.D.'s parents got us tickets from their branch up in Montana so we went with a group of 6 and it was so much fun... we even got to eat at Grandma Nan's afterwards and hang out with all our awesome cousins for a couple hours! I loved all the talks and the Spirit was so strong... President Monson is such a cute man! And I really think that Elder Ballard's talk was written just for Micah Folsom:) I hope you all feel as spriritually fed as I do... what a great weekend!

My Twilight 'High'
So before 3 days ago... I was completely skeptical about the whole Twilight craze. Some of my friends have read it and they always went on and on about how good it is... I'm just not the reading type though so I figured I'd never get around to it. It wasn't til my mom bought the books and told me she would stay up all night reading cause she couldn't put them down that I decided I better make time to read them! So I started my Twilight journey 3 days ago and I've got one book down and two to go. It was SO GOOD! Every spare second I had I would open up the book and keep at it. I seriously didn't want to put it down! If you haven't read these books yet... you NEED to. That's all there is to it. Don't give me the... 'I don't have time' excuse cause I tried that for a while. Everyone goes to the bathroom at least a couple times a day.. so you HAVE time! And once you start you will MAKE time. Ask J.D. I had to put some of my wifely duties on hold til I could finish the dang thing! So a word of advice.. don't start if you have a huge paper or test coming up soon... it will make studying that much harder! Ah.. I loved this book!

Down to the nitty gritty:)
How long have you been together? All together.... almost 9 months! haha. we move fast.
How long did you date? Only 2 months and one day til we got engaged... then married 3 months after that.
How old is he? 23
How old is she? 19
Who eats more? Oh heavens... I would like to say J.D. because lots of times he does... but i definitely keep up with him sadly.
Who said "I love you" first? I would say it was him.. he didn't just come out and say it though. He definitely beat around the bush until he KNEW i would say it back.. haha
Who is taller? J.D. by about 6 inches. I love it!
Who sings better? Well J.D. will definitely say me... but when it comes to country music he sings dang good!
Who is smarter? It depends. J.D. says it comes more natural to me... which could be true. He, however, studies like a mad man and gets A's in classes like organic chemistry... so he's no tool in the shed. And when it comes to gospel principles he blows me outta the water!
Who does the laundry? Me. We do a whoppin' 3 loads per week. Whites. Gentle whites. and darks. He sometimes helps me fold it though and put it away.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He does for the most part cause he has to turn off the alarm in the morning for his 7 o'clock class... sometimes we get crazy and switch it up though.
Who pays the bills? I pay all the bills. J.D. has plenty of other things to worry about right now.
Who cooks dinner? Right now it really is up in the air. We both have really crazy schedules so we make it together most of the time which I really enjoy. He is more creative than me and isn't afraid to just throw stuff together. I need to learn to take more risks in the kitchen! haha
Who is more stubborn? haha... we both agree that it's definitely me. When i think i'm right... i'm right. But I do give in to J.D. at times. He just knows how to soften me up!
Who kissed who first? haha i kissed him on the cheek.. and then he just looked and me and pointed to his lips with this cute little face.. i'll never forget it. adorable! So then we just kissed on the lips for a sec. He kissed me for our first 'real' kiss though. I happily accepted.
Who asked who out? Well that's a tricky one. I texted him first at the end of the spring semester cause i thought he got a new truck... i really just wanted to talk to him though... but he went home to Montana for all of May and then text me when he got back to hang out. It didn't work out for a couple times and then I randomly saw his roommate driving in Ogden and his roommate called me and told me to come over. J.D. ended up getting home from roping so he was all dirty and that was the end of it. That was the first night we kissed and the last night I was single!
Who proposed? He did, on the morning of my birthday at 6 am... he called me and woke me up to tell me he was at my front door with a surprise... it wasn't a ring though.. he made me oatmeal waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, eggs, sausage, and orange juice. I was so excited cuz I just thought he was bein cute for my birthday! As i was getting my waffle ready I turned around and he was getting on one knee to propose. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!
Who has more friends? That's a hard one... I know a lot more people because I went to high school here... but I don't really hang out with lots of them. So really we probably have about the same now.
Who has more siblings? He does. 4 brothers and 1 sister. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Who wears the pants in the relationship? Hmm... He says that I like to... but he puts me in my place! No.. i really think he does, but mostly we are pretty mutual. I guess we both have one leg in the pants.
Who are you tagging? Everyone! Steph, Brooke, Katherine, Kat, Casie, and Emily

Instead of homework....
So I have finally found something to do while JD spends hours and hours each night doing homework! Of course one might think there are PLENTY of things I could be doing in the mean time.. cleaning the house, doing laundry, organizing my closet, reading a book, or even some of my own homework. (which I always finish in about 1/64 of the time JD does.) But no... I would rather do things WAY more important.. like changing my blog! Besides, it takes about 9 minutes to clean up our entire little place so that doesn't help take up the time any! So back to it... I was completely clueless as to how everyone else's blogs were so dang cute and mine was still just the same ol' plain jane... but casie helped me figure it out! What a pal, huh? So now that I have spent an entire night messing with all sorts of different do dads I can finally get on with my wifely duties! Anyone have any good recipes? Keep them simple though... I'm still a rookie!

Spring Break!

So Spring Break at Lake Powell was pretty much JUST what I needed! I was able to leave the real world behind and just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of one of the greatest places on earth with people I love! We had tons of fun hiking and boating... even tho the water was like 5 degrees and turned my skin blue.... and just enjoying the SUN. All it did was make me all the more excited for Spring and Summer to finally get here! We're back at it with school and sports now though so things are getting fun again. We don't even get a break from it once the semester is over tho cause JD and I both are taking summer classes... yipee! It'll be nice to be able to graduate next Spring tho.. that's the plan for me.. now JD just needs to get accepted to vet school! I really am so proud of him and how hard he works and the time he puts into his school work. I love you JD! Hope everyone had a wonderful break and is doing well!

This is my conclusion!
So after a nice little chit chat with some of my favorites, S.K. and Jesse, I've decided that the reason I'm so lame at blogging is because we don't have a kid yet! So... dun dun dunnnn.... we're gonna have one! Oh man... I'm totally kidding! Not for a couple more years... but until then our lives are just not that exciting to blog about! Sorry guys... however, we are super excited for Spring Break to finally be here so maybe I'll capture some kodak moments at Lake Powell.. Well until then...I hope everyone is doing well! J.D. and I are still very happily married and having so much fun just doin grown up stuff... I'm still in the process of learning how to cook and learning all sorts of smart things to do with what little money we have.. but I really love learning about new stuff like that! Feel free to offer any advice that you have:) There's nothin better than learning from those who've experienced it themselves!
